Wissens nach lediglich beim MapServer, der die Karten bzw. Bilder produziert.
Dieser entscheidet auch, ob die Karten per GetMap-Request transparent angzeigt
werden können oder nicht. Im Falle des UMN MapServers liegt das neben den
Einstellungen der einzelnen Layer-Sections <EM>TRANSPARENCY 50</EM> etc.
auch am OutputFormat (<EM>TRANSPARENT ON</EM>), welches im Mapfile
festgelegt wird. Wobei laut MapfileReference (<A
href="http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/docs/reference/mapfile/outputformat">http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/docs/reference/mapfile/outputformat</A>)
folgendes beachtet werden muss:</FONT></SPAN></DIV>

<DD>Indicates whether transparency should be enabled for this format. Note
that transparency does not work for IMAGEMODE RGB output. Not all formats
support transparency (optional). When transparency is enabled for the typical
case of 8-bit pseudocolored map generation, the IMAGECOLOR color will be
marked as transparent in the output file palette. Any other map components
drawn in this color will also be transparent, so for map generation with
transparency it is best to use an otherwise unused color as the background

<P>beim GetMap Aufruf gibt's ja den Parameter <SPAN
style="FONT-STYLE: italic">TRANSPARENT = TRUE</SPAN>. <BR>Kann man im
Mapbender die Transparenz eines WMS anfordern? Wenn ja, wie?</P>
<P>Oder funktioniert das nur wenn der Mapserver für diesen WMS standardmäßig
ein transparentes Bild liefert (z.B. in UMN-Mapdatei <SPAN
style="FONT-STYLE: italic">TRANSPARENCY 50</SPAN>)?</P>
