Yes,

Jackie's blog (sorry on mobile no link) has a Prepare step for the installer build.  Also, its recommended to install the files into staging directories, and then specify those directories on each installer build.bat call.

I just tried a fresh checkout today.
After building MapGuide, using the "build.bat", I get the folder 
MgDev\Server\bin\Release
But the "build.bat -a=regen" in the Installer looks for 
..\MgDev\Release\Server\Bin
And that second folder is supposed to contain other stuff (like the repo 
admin files).

Do I have to perform another step to get that special folder prepared?
