[mapguide-internals] Ubuntu 9.10 is MapGuide 2.2's best friend

Hi Gabriele,

We may be able to roll the packages into the UbuntuGIS repository https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuGIS once we hit beta. I will start the ball rolling on that discussion.

Regards,
Trevor

@Trevor
Great stuff! I'm going to give it a try

The dependencies are not going to be resolved automatically if you
simply install one or more .deb packages. You need to install them
from a repository.

In this way the dependencies are resolved by the package manager
picking up packages from the official repositories when needed

Why don't setup a repository instead of downloading .deb packages?

In this way you can make a meta-package "mapguide2.2" that once
selected automatically mark for installation all required packages
(not only your packages but also libraries from official ubuntu
packages).

For instance we can use a PPA archive:
https://help.launchpad.net/Packaging/PPA

My 2 cents,

Gabriele
