Great!!! Thank you Mike.  I had to get back to some other work and ran out of time to investigate further.

I've also started looking into Cruise Control for build automation.  Sometime in the future, the combination of Cruise Control + Ant + JUnit + Selenium could be a viable way to perform end to end build validation on multiple browsers and platforms.  Selenium can capture UI interaction and generate Java tests which can then be run under JUnit.  From what I can tell, Cruise Control has built in support for running and reporting on JUnit test cases.  MapGuide is a big app to test and a end-to-end automation stack will be a bit of an undertaking.
