 In KMLRenderer, <tessellate> is entered as <tesselate>.  Google Earth
 usually does not complain about this, but if you select the "notify on
 errors" mode it will.

 I'm also wondering if this is part of the reason why KML from !MapGuide
 does not work well in Google Maps for some people, but feel that file size
 or possible lack of region support in Google Maps are more likely causes.
