Comment:

 If an alias fails to be displayed under the XML result of
 EnumerateUnmanagedData it is because the MapGuide Server could not stat
 the given directory.

 I tried EnumerateUnmanagedData with a UNC containing spaces for mg-desktop
 (which has 100% identical logic to the MapGuide Server) and it could pick
 up the UNC in question.

 As a result, I would chalk this up to a permission related issue relating
 to the user account that the MapGuide Server process runs under.
