[mapguide-users] ODBC problem...

There is currently a change request in pending status that should address
many of the join problems people are having. Please see this page:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/MapGuide_RFCs. Discussions on these topics,
and the ultimate approval by the Project Steering Committee (PSC,
https://mapguide.osgeo.org/psc.html) can be followed by subscribing to the
mapguide-dev mailing list. Nabble groups were also recently added at
http://www.nabble.com/MapGuide-f16610.html

As an aside, I've found that Access joins only work (by that, I mean will
display geometry) if your join key field is an integer.

This is exactly what were experiencing with MapGuide Enterprise SP1 when
trying to join DB tables to our SDF layers. We can see all the fields from
the database but we get only empty maps. All works well when reading only
from the SDF.

It looks like we will have to continue placing all our data inside the SDF
for a while longer.
