The area of the transformed geometry should be returned in meters for BC Albers.  You can tell the units by looking at the end of the WKT CRS string for something like:  UNIT["Meter",1.00000000000000]

My input is LL84WKT, which is degrees, but I am transforming to BC Albers. Is
