Unless I'm missing something here, in IIS under properties for MapGuide,
press create.

I suggest you take a look at
http://mapguide.osgeo.org/files/mapguide/docs/InstallConfigureMgOpenSourceOn
Windows.pdf

It takes you through how to setup IIS.

Regards

Gary

You can bump the number of connections on Win XP to 40:
http://weblogs.asp.net/cazzu/archive/2003/10/10/31476.aspx

If the MapAdmin is giving error 500, it is usually PHP related.
Check that the correct path for the php.exe is configured in IIS,
and also check that the temp directory from php.ini is writeable by the IIS
account.

On rare occasions, the "500" errors make it into the system eventlog, and
further information may be found there.

1) Are you using Internet Explorer? Try turning off "friendly HTTP errors"
so
you get a more detailed error message. Also in my experience, I wouldn't
recommend using the .net configuration in Windows XP as IIS is totally
crippled with a 10 connection limit, this may be a contributing factor.

2) MapGuide 6.5 is the previous version of the MapGuide product. v6.5 and
OS/Enterprise are two completely different things.

3) The Developer's Guide that comes with the installation, and the docs on
the mapguide osgeo site are the definitive sources (at the moment). Of
course you could always ask this list. We're all learning as we go (at least
I am) ;-)

Hi everyone.
I'm a newcomer and have some problems with MapGuide Open Source:
1. It sounds there is some problem with Site Administrator. I have
installed both Server and WebServer Extensions (IIS and ASP.Net 2.0) on
Win XP for localhost. When i wanna test installation according to its pdf,
MapAgent and WebServer Extension respond correctly but for Site
Administrator this error will be displayed ' The page cannot be displayed,
HTTP 500'. I don't know how to progress.
2. I have got also MapGuide v6.5. What's the use of it?
3. MapGuide Open Source really doesn't have any tuorial?
Thanks
