Thank you. Without looking at the code, the sample appears to add the features to a "markup" layer that doesn't appear in the layer list. I assume you could just as well have edited one of the existing layers.

Yes, that can be done.  The best starting point is the General Tasks markup example.  It creates permanent SDF feature sources and layers on the fly.  You can find it here:

I was looking at the online documentation and could only find info referencing temporary features. Can mgos be used to create new features?
