To keep session data, you will have to keep a copy of the open sessions 
during restart.

I have not tried to do this, but you might be able to make a file copy 
of the "Session" folder and files before the restart,
and copy it back in after.

If the server stops responding, you will not be able to query it for 
open sessions, so I think the above approach is pretty much the only way.
