No, you cannot integrate Google Maps etc with AJAX (too bad because its so
fast and it is what most users use - especially if you have more than a
dozen layers).

I think if you can get Google or BING as a WMS service, you could add that
as a layer to AJAX.

Alternatively, if one breaks the agreement with BING or Google, or you use
Open Street Maps, you could create a local cache (seen a few of these
online). NOT RECOMMENDED.

Finally, you could bypass both AJAX and FUSION and use OpenLayers directly
(http://openlayers.org/dev/examples/mapguide.html)
