different, especially on the local network, since map images are always
generated in 32 bit color before being saved out to gif or

take 12 seconds, it took about 2 not counting the time it takes to zoom the
map to that feature. Selection in the AJAX viewer is done on the server side,
so it is normal for it not to be instantaneous -- it has to redraw the map
with the object you selected highlighted. </SPAN></FONT></DIV>
