<div>I am have a&nbsp;small business that helps Retail clients determine the potential of their trade area and I would like to move the information from paper to&nbsp;Google maps.&nbsp;Ideally&nbsp;they could click on polygons (postcodes or Census districts) to build their trade area and the underlying data would be summated.&nbsp;</div>

<div>As google is advancing so quickly do you have any suggestions on the packages I should use to generate the KML for google maps/earth?&nbsp; I am familiar&nbsp;with&nbsp;HTML&nbsp; and some UNIX but have not used&nbsp;java or PHP and was wondering if it is better to go opensouce (ie mapguide opensource) or use the prepackage&nbsp;Manifold.&nbsp;Manifold looks&nbsp;like the easier option but I am concerned&nbsp;it may not be able to keep up with Google maps developments.&nbsp;</div>
