What do you mean exactly with "change the ip adress of MapGuide Server"
?<br>

I have no problem accessing your server through either DNS name or IP.<br>

<pre wrap="">Hello Kenneth,
I forgot to mention, when I change the IP address in the serverconfig.ini
and webconfig.ini files back to 127.0.0.1 and restart the MapGuide Server
service I'm able to login to Site Administrator. So, it appears my problem
is how to change the ip address of MapGuide Server.
Thanks again,

<pre wrap="">Hello Kenneth,
Thanks for the reply.
I'm unable to login to site administrator once I've changed the IP address
from localhost.
I used <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/ticket/659">http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/ticket/659</a> ticket #659 because I
thought this is the procedure to change the IP address of the MapGuide
Server? On the install of MGOS I used the default of 127.0.0.1 (localhost)
and everything works. I then wanted to change it to my WAN IP address
(66.116.107.3) so I edited the following text files:
1. webconfig.ini, under SiteConnectionProperties, change IpAddress to the
WAN IP Address (66.116.107.3)
2. serverconfig.ini, under SiteConnectionProperties, change IpAddress to
the WAN IP Address (66.116.107.3)
3. serverconfig.ini, under GeneralProperties, change MachineIp to the WAN
IP Address (66.116.107.3)
I then restart the MapGuide Server service and even restarted the server,
but no luck. Still getting the
"Fatal error encountered! Please login again." error message. The message
occurs both locally (<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://localhost:8008/mapguide/mapadmin/login.php">http://localhost:8008/mapguide/mapadmin/login.php</a>)
and remotely (<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://hostmapguide.com:8008/mapguide/mapadmin/login.php">http://hostmapguide.com:8008/mapguide/mapadmin/login.php</a>)
I'm kinda of at a lost what to do and think I might have to watch some
past episodes of MacGyver on youtube.com to figure it out :-)
Thanks for all the help,
Jeff Jensen

<pre wrap="">The ticket #659 relates to people trying to write an application on one
machine that communicates with MapGuide on another machine (on a LAN).
You should not follow those directions, unless you are trying to achieve
that.
As for the WAN, you just need to have your router (or ISP) redirect
request for port 80 (or 8008) to your machine.
On most routers, it is called NAT (network address translation), but
some call it "Virtual Servers".
Once done, your webserver should be visible from the WAN as well, and
thus MapGuide is visible too.

<pre wrap="">Hello,
Following the suggestion from Andy Morsell, I uninstalled and installed
the
MapGuide Web Extensions for MGOS 2.0.2 using the Apache Webserver and
PHP.
Success! I can now login to Site Administrator.
Only thing I did different on the install was to use the default
localhost
IP address (127.0.0.1). So now I'm trying to find where I change it to
my
WAN IP address for the MapGuide Server.
Thanks for the help,

Any other ideas?

<pre wrap="">That was my next move... I've only just started with 2.0.1 and sample
data. I was thinking I would just just clean everything up
and reinstall 2.0.2 again.
