Can't you just use Studio to
delete your old managed data source definitions?
Trying to do it from the file system level can be tricky but you can always
just do a search on the repository folder for *.sdf and *.shp to find all of
your managed files and manually delete them, but you really should do it from
within Studio so that the repository database is updated properly.

Regarding your Autodesk rant: they don't want people purchasing it for
MapGuide Open Source anymore and it is only available for people who purchase
MapGuide Enterprise. I agree, it's too bad for people like you that they
chose to go down that path. Our best bet as a community is to contribute
to
the MGOS project so things like MapGuide Maestro continue to grow with our
support.
Subject: [mapguide-users] removing previously 'managed' data from package

I have converted to 'unmanaged' data to liberate myself from Studio load
procedures. I expected my package size to decrease, but it has actually
grown slightly. I suspect that the old data is still in the repository,
can
anyone tell me how can I safely remove it?

Thanks!
Warning – rant follows

In case anyone from Autodesk is listening - I'm very disappointed to have
paid so much for a product with no support, rapid obsolescence and no
upgrade path. MapGuide Studio was the single most expensive purchase for
our our non-profit map project and provided the least return on investment.
Not what I expected from Autodesk. That said, I do appreciate your
support
of the open source project and hope you will contribute to development of
Maestro now that Studio is no longer available for purchase.
