<DIV>It kind of depends on what language you are writing in as to how you are going to end up writing the code but essentially, assuming you are using .NET in IE. You need to create a javascript function in your aspx page that opens a new shell which opens the application associated with that file type on the users machine. The software you want to use would have to be installed and associated for this to work.</DIV>
