[MapProxy] Install on windows

Hello,

 

I’ve followed your instructions in a new windows xp machine.

 

1.       Installed python 2.6 in C:\python26 without problem

2.       Installed easy_install C:\python26\Scripts without problem

3.       Executed esasy_install MapProxy in command line without problem

4.       Following MapProxy web site instructions: 

 

To check if the MapProxy was successfully installed you can directly call the version module. You should see the installed version number.

python -m mapproxy.core.version


But in windows command line I get: ‘python’ is not recognized....

 

In python command line I get: SyntaxError: Invalid syntax

 

Any idea?

Hi Antoli,

 

The latest version has a lot of fixes specifically for Windows. The easiest way to install the software is to use easy_install. Google "easy_install" and download that software. I believe it's a Python package called setuptools. 

 

Once you've installed setup tools, you can open a DOS Command prompt and type easy_install MapProxy and it will install everything you need to get going.

 

After that, just keep following the instructions on the MapProxy website and you will be good.

 

Make sure you are have full admin rights on your computer or you will experience varied results.
