Revised 4.8 release plan

Go for it. I got most stuff working. Some of the circle drawing code was never updated for antialiasing at all so there's still an issue or two to resolve. All of the most common cases should work fine.

So to summarize, what you propose would result in:

4.8.0-beta3 on Thursday Dec 15th (tonight)
4.8.0-rc1 on Thursday Dec 22nd
4.8.0 final on Thursday January 5th

Is that what you had in mind? If we hear no objections then we'll go 
with that.
