I guess that could work too, but with MAXDISTANCE it's not as obvious 
that the keyword triggers the repeat behavior... it took me a few 
seconds to picture how MAXDISTANCE could be interpreted to mean that we 
repeat the labels at that interval.

I'm easy on the keyword anyway, so if a majority thinks this is better 
then we could go with that.
