With the multilingual documentation starting to pick up steam and our fancy new styling enticing more people to contribute ;), I'd like to change to a forgiveness model instead of a permission one for documentation commit access. I would propose that any PSC member can give commit access to the docs section of the website and notify mapserver-dev of that fact. The contributor would then reply to that email on mapserver-dev announcing their agreement to abide by RFC 7. The PSC can later motion to revoke this access if it is a problem for any reason.<br>

I want the documentation contribution to be lower friction than the source code contribution. The ticket/patch/commit model works well for code contribution, but I think it flounders for documentation because of the now increasing language variability and the contribution volume (many pages, lots of small edits, so on). We don't use a wiki (or Plone!) for primary documentation contribution, and we should do our best to allow people to easily contribute to the documentation. I want to enable people like Eduin to hit the ground running quickly without too much of our bureaucracy getting in the way.<br>
