- you run make install<br>
- you copy/symlink $prefix/bin/mapserv to your cgi-bin directory<br>
- the $prefix/bin/mapserv is not a wrapper script, the one in the source directory is (and therefore cannot be used by copying it directly to the cgi-bin dir)</p>

This is due to the new build configuration that uses libtool. Now, you<br>
need to do a make install which will copy the binaries to you $PREFIX/bin<br>
directory and then you copy the mapserv file (which is now a wrapper) to<br>
your cgi-bin dir.<br>
