[mapserver-users] EXPRESSION question

The first does an actual boolean test based on LENGTH. The second does a
string comparison (using strcmp) and should work only if LENGTH equals
'646.231 - 1812.723' which should never happen.

What is the difference between :

EXPRESSION ([LENGTH] > 646.231 and [LENGTH] <= 1812.723)

and

CLASSITEM 'LENGTH'
EXPRESSION '646.231 - 1812.723'

Second option seems to work sometimes but not always.
