example1 displays a blank .gif

hi there
i'm a newbie with MapServer. i've just finished to install it and the 'ms_demo'
application is running very well.
now i'm trying to do a simple test based on example1 of the doc-page at mapserver
site, but only a blank .gif is displayed.

does anybody know what is wrong with my files?
