Thanks Ed, the simple solutions are always the best! I hadn't known that
info was included in the output files.

Thanks again

Rob

Ellis -

I don't have any pre-3.5 versions around to test, but can you look at
the HTML output of the older MapServer binary and see if it is inserting
a comment string (one that looks just like the "mapserv -v" output) at
the top of the HTML page.

I'm trying to work out the configuration of an older version of
Mapserver I have running (3.3.11) but am having no success. For versions
3.5+ I'm able to run this:

mapserv -v

And get the appropriate output, like this:

seqbbggis002 (ellisrj-3:20:26pm) /data4/WWW/cgi-bin> maptest -v
MapServer version 3.5 (pre-alpha) OUTPUT=GIF INPUT=TIFF INPUT=EPPL7
INPUT=POSTGIS INPUT=SHAPEFILE

however when I do this for the 3.3 version I get this:

seqbbggis002 (ellisrj-3:31:25pm) /data4/WWW/cgi-bin> mapserv -v This
script can only be used to decode form results and
should be initiated as a CGI process via a httpd server.

Can somebody point me in the right direction to get the info I need? I'm
running Mapserver on a Unix (Solaris) platform with Apache.

Thanks

Rob
