[Mapserver-users] Order of objects in a MAP file ?

I'm wondering whether the order of independent objects in a MAP file is =
arbitrary or not.

I've only found an ordering of layers metioned in the docs - is this the =
only example of ordering ?

I'm including SYMBOL definition in the MAP file itself, and wonder =
whether these need to be specified before the LAYER definitions that use =
them ?
