[UMN_MAPSERVER-USERS] Behind a firewall

Jose,

For sure you can have Mapserver behind a firewal if you configure it
correctly to give access to your http server. If you only use a standard
HTTP server like Apache, you just have to permit access to port 80 of your
computer. If you server is secured, you should permit transactions to port
443. It depends on how you configured your web server.

Anyway, most of the time, you just have to set a virtual server or port
forwarding to your computer, port 80. No other settings needed for
Mapserver.

Cheers!

Skweda

Hello All

I would like to know if it is possible to have the computer which has the
mapserver and the maps behind a firewall.

In case, this is possible should I set some parameters or which is a good
configuration to do this?.

Jose Luis Portillo
