Try "IMAGETYPE PNG24".

PNG and PNG24 default to interlaced mode, which i don't like, so i use:

        IMAGETYPE GD-PNG24
        OUTPUTFORMAT
          NAME GD-PNG24
          DRIVER "GD/PNG"
          MIMETYPE "image/png"
          IMAGEMODE RGBA
          EXTENSION "png"
          FORMATOPTION "INTERLACE=OFF"
        END

Non-interlaced images are smaller than interlaced ones.
