UNC path in mapfile

Hi Thanks for your reply ....

1)I tried with a .sid file locally and it works
2)I tried with the dollar sign but it doesnt work .....
3)My mapserver is in windows and i am trying to access a windows machine
via UNC
4) I mapped the drive in the other computer and gave it a virtual directory
in the mapserver machine but no use
5)The file sharing permissions are right ....

Is there any other possible way .......
