Get Demo Running

I have mapserver up and running on my C: drive on Windows but I'm having
trouble with the demo.

 The 'Mapserver New User' document says

 "You will need to move the demo files to their appropriate locations on
your HTTP server, and modify the Map File and html pages to reflect the
paths and URLs of your server."

Unfortunately I'm a bit of a IT novice, could anyone give me help on doing
this?
