Problems with Compiling Mapserver 5.0

I had originally tried installing Mapserver with GEOS 3.0, giving me the
error message below. I have since installed GEOS 2.2.3, and pointed my
Mapserver 5.0 configure script at its installed location (e.g.
/usr/local/geos2_2_3), and got exactly the same error message as you see below.
