newbie and cmap

I'm an italian developer at the first post on this ml ...

now the question ;-)))

i'm trying to implement a mapserver to catch the gps signal from some boat
and reproduce their movement on the map ... I'm using postgis+linux/freebsd
with python mapscript ...

the problem is that I can't find a detailed naval map of the italian harbour
I need ! 

a society offer me a map, but it's in c-map format ... is there a way to
use the map as RASTER for the map ? o better, can I convert the cmap into
a shapefile ?

where can I found detailed map of the Italian harbour ?
