Too many open files on mapserv 4.10.1

Hello,

   I am upgrading my mapserv applications to a new server. It starts working
with no problems, but after a while the mapserv application stops working.
After a lot of tests i discovered that the following Perl program works OK
using mapserv 4.2.0 in the old server , but returns with "Too many open
files" using mapserv 4.10.1 in the new server (it opens 23 files and die):

Does anybody have a hint on the problem? I need it opening a lot of files,
since I am using mapserv as a component of a web service and not as a CGI.

The versions I am using in the new server are:
