[mapserver-users] WMS Time with Shapefiles or Cascading WMS

Hi all, 

 

I'm evaluating to create a WMS service using TIME parameters, this service
will have their DATA on shapefiles (not DB).

So, I have a set of shapefile each month.

 

My goal is to create a service WMS, that accept a parameter TIME that can
generate images using this parameter.

For example: I have 3 shapes:

 

January.shp

February.shp

March.shp

 

And then, I would like to create a service that using the parameter TIME
represent the correct shapefile (Jan, Feb, Mar) in function of TIME of the
request(01-01-2011).

I read and search documentation, but I just find information about raster
datasets using PostGIS.

 

If this is not possible, do you know if I can do something similar using
MapServer as a WMS client?
