Hello,

I found the answer.

The mapserver6.0.2 configure tool really does not search for gif_lib.h this
is the header file for the gif lib file libgif.a

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=114354

says that the packages libungif lacks the libgif.a file. 

You only have to symlink the libungif.a to libgif.a then it works
