Not off hand. From what I can see in the docs, the only GEOS associated functions are: buffer, convexhull, union_geos, intersection and difference (all via the shapeobj). I don't see any area functions exposed in MapScript.

stuff. I think that you would want to generate the area information before
serving up the layers. Is their a reason why the area values must be generated

to go (for sequential feature access) if you don't have a need for serving
maps whilst performing "<font face="Arial"><font size="2"><span>statisticals
opérations". More context/details would be helpful.
