It could be that your MAP Object's NAME equals your LAYER NAME, or your
WMS client requests the top level Layer (which is the Map's NAME).<br>
<br>
What would be helpful:<br>
-MAP file<br>
-GetCapabilities output<br>
-the URL that your WMS client uses.<br>
