      Sounds like the "type" of PNG is causing the problem.  Have a look
    at the properties (using gdalinfo) of the PNG image the wms produces
    (use "curl" to get and save the image.  Is it RGB? RGBA?<br>

                    5.6.  It appears to be some problem with the alpha
                    channels. Any
