[Marketing] OSGeo and Sponsor co-branding

hi,

Interesting thread... I can add 2 Euro cents here with the
now-approaching-three-years experience within the Italian chapter, where I
have been acting as vice president and media relations manager.

In marketing actions we have conducted locally as a chapter, we are ok to
allow co-branding where it does not lend itself to double interpretations
from the intended target of a given marketing action.

I think there is also a learning by doing aspect in how we are thinking
about the Italian chapter's initiatives (some of which have been receiving
visibility on national media, such as newspapers and radio stations).

My feeling is that we are getting gradually more mature in understanding
cases where co-branding is great, versus cases where co-branding is not the
best option.

I'll be glad to share these ideas in the FOSS4G 2010 perspective.

Best regards,
