One question that pops to mind .. obviously OSGeo is not a commercial enterprise delivering software/services etc.. to customers, and in fact has to be particularly sensitive to not compete with companies/individuals who are providing commercials products/services with OSGeo software. However, the marketing plan outline that is shown below is very much along the lines of a typical commercial services/software company.<div><br class="webkit-block-placeholder"></div><div>Is there a better template out there specific to non-profit organizations / foundations for marketing purposes? This would seem like a much more useful starting point.<br><div><br class="webkit-block-placeholder"></div><div>Dave<br><div> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: separate; border-spacing: 0px 0px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; text-align: auto; -khtml-text-decorations-in-effect: none; text-indent: 0px; -apple-text-size-adjust: auto; text-transform: none; orphans: 2; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: separate; border-spacing: 0px 0px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; text-align: auto; -khtml-text-decorations-in-effect: none; text-indent: 0px; -apple-text-size-adjust: auto; text-transform: none; orphans: 2; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; "><div><br></div><div><br class="webkit-block-placeholder"></div></span></span> </div><br><div><div>On 25-Nov-07, at 11:19 PM, Daniele wrote:</div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><blockquote type="cite"> Dear Marketing Committee, <br> <br> I have sketched an outline of a possible marketing plan (<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/Marketing_Plan">http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/Marketing_Plan</a>). The reason for it is so that every one in the committee has a clear idea of the components of such a plan. I think the part about <b>promotion </b>(<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/Marketing_Plan#Selected_Marketing_Strategy">http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/Marketing_Plan#Selected_Marketing_Strategy</a>) is also quite important at the moment as I felt that many of you need print material to promote OSGeo in events... so we can create a wiki for that). If you have time, please input your Ideas on it. Note that it is an outline so the final Plan may look quite different.<br> <br> Warmest regards, <br> <br> Daniele.<br><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">_______________________________________________</div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">Marketing mailing list</div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; "><a href="mailto:Marketing@lists.osgeo.org">Marketing@lists.osgeo.org</a></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; "><a href="http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/marketing">http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/marketing</a></div> </blockquote></div><br></div></div></body></html>
