Micha and Tyler have got me prodded out of my hibernation. I'm going
to try to get a handle on where we are at with each article for Volume
6 before the end of this week. If I can do that, it would be great if
we could get conversions to latex started next week.

This e-mail has two (2) goals:

1) Determine the status each article submitted for Volume 6.
2) Move articles forward to the latex conversion step.

Article Status
First, I want to check on the status of articles for Volume 6. I'm
going to break this up into sections by editor, listing the articles
for each. Please let me know if each of the articles listed under your
name is ready for conversion to latex. If it is not, let me know what
tasks remain, and we will help you get them done.

Tyler Mitchell:
- Editorial

Jason Fournier:
- International Symposium and an International Information Workshiop at FOSS4G
- Summer Course on FOSS4G

Micha Silver and Martin Wegmann:
- Grass Image Processing Environment
- SEXTANTE: A Free Platform for Geospatial Analysis"
- SAMT: Spatial Analysis and Editing Tool

Zachary Woolard
- Why Every Open Source Project Needs A Dictator

Zachary Woolard, Rafal Wawer, and Daniel Ames
- Using User-Centered Design and Open Source Technology to Redevelop a Web-GIS

It looks like the following articles have been submitted since we last
discussed the status of Volume 6. If you are a Section Editor
reviewing one of these additional articles, can you let me know if the
article is ready for conversion to latex?:

- GPGPU with GDAL - Basics of GPGPU Interfacing
- gvSIG is a Viable Robust Alternative to Commercially Available GIS Packages
- CASCADOSS International Symposium and International Information
Workshop Event Report

If these articles don't have a section editor, we will get one
assigned to each. I know everyone is just as busy (or busier) than I
am. If you are having trouble getting the articles in your section
ready for conversion to latex, just let me know and we will get you
some help.

Once I get responses to this e-mail I will work with Tyler to do the
following tasks:

1) Get the latex conversion process going on the articles that are ready.
2) Get the remaining articles reviewed and edited so they can be put
in the latex conversion hopper.
3) Delete withdrawn or inactive articles from the OJS interface.

I'll update the OJS interface and this web page when I get the
responses to this e-mail:

http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Journal_Volume_6

I'd apologize for taking so long to get this e-mail out, but you guys
don't want to hear more of my whining. I'll see if we can get things
moving the next week and a half. Thanks for your patience.

Landon

P.S. - Do we feel like this is enough content for Volume 6?
