I would propose to preserve all Journal-related ressources via the open access Zenodo repository (<a href="http://zenodo.org/" id="OWA518724c7-573c-27a5-705e-223ffd33fd55" class="OWAAutoLink" data-auth="NotApplicable" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">zenodo.org</a> ->
no costs, professional long term preservation, an open source infrastructure backed by CERN), which is already being used for other OSGeo content, including software, data and publications (<a href="https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/DOI" id="OWA6b2d0055-baf6-d516-b031-5f6e514abbac" class="OWAAutoLink" data-auth="NotApplicable" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/DOI</a>).<br>

While we don't have a common strategy within OSGeo (yet) to interlink such ressources, once they have received DOI (Digital Object Identifiers), they can be discovered, referenced and _interlinked_.<br>
<br>
We have already have that for OSGeo projects which actively use DOI for software versioning: It's feasible to reference either particular software releases or the whole software project. A reference to the project allows to discover all software releases, and
vice verca.<br>
<br>
In a similar fashion, the OSGeo journal could be referenced by DOI, or alternatively individual Journal editions. DOI can be obtained via Zenodo, but also other institutions, like NASA, maybe AGU, etc..<br>
<br>
The most important thing would be to include the OSGeo ROR (persistent id from the research organisation registry, we have this since early 2023) in the metadata when registering a DOI via a repo:<br>
