BlueNet MEST Version 1.1

Hi Everyone,

The production version of the BlueNet MEST is available (or has been
available since 11/06/08) for download from
http://anzlicmet.bluenet.utas.edu.au

Note this version is basically beta5 plus bug fixes. The trac site (same
as download site above) is still active and up to date for bug reporting
and we are currently working with the geonetwork community to get the
modifications and fixes into the trunk - some progress on this should
result from the OSGeo Hacking Workshop in Bolsena this week.

The source code is now in a project area of its own (known as a sandbox)
in the subversion repository used by the geonetwork trunk - go to
http://geonetwork.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/geonetwork/sandbox/ to
browse and follow the instructions on
http://sourceforge.net/projects/geonetwork/ for more details on how to
download.

We hope to reach the situation fairly quickly where national profiles
like ANZLIC, Australian Marine Community Profile etc will be available
as an optional install pack that you can select when you install the
trunk and then later progress to having profiles as plugins. When
profiles can be selectively installed and changes accepted by the
community have been merged with the trunk, then focus will switch from
the BlueNetMEST to the trunk.

As always, the success of the whole GeoNetwork tree depends upon
community support ie. you :-), so I hope that you will (continue to) use
the BlueNetMEST sandbox and release as a way of "ratcheting up" your
involvement in GeoNetwork and that testing/feedback/interest will
continue.

Cheers and thanks,
Simon
