One thing to be wary of...

linux.conf.au was held in Dunedin several years ago... and they ended up
with a big GST liability because Linux Australia was GST registered on both
sides of the Tasman and so both govts took their share. This may not be a
problem if all revenue/expenses are funneled through TH for FOSS4G2009 (or
in fact if nothing goes near OSGeo Aust/NZ), but if there are plans along
those lines its probably worth talking to an accountant to make sure there
aren't unexpected tax problems later
