Things have changed a bit since we brought FOSS4G to Sydney in
2009.<br>
In particular, conference selection has matured.<br>
Location is now on a 3 year rotation: Europe / North America /
Rest of World<br>
The selection committee are more wary of selecting risky events.
This means they more likely to select a city/committee who have a
track record running successful local FOSS4G events (for say 50 to
150 people) for a local audience. Australian/New Zealand has not
been holding such events, and I'd suggest would need to do so
before bringing an international conference to Australia.<br>
This is a labour of love exercise and not a money making one, but
if you wish to do it, I suggest starting by talking with the <a
