<div dir="ltr"><div>Thanks Tony. The constitution was something we had to adopt to formalise the entity in May. It's pretty close to off-the-shelf, but we can potentially make changes to it going forward. (I'm not sure what the process is.) <br></div><div><i><br></i></div><div><i>>should there be something in the membership conditions that indemnifies
members to that limit of $1 mentioned in the Consitution document?
Otherwise there is no protection at present for joining members.</i></div><div>My understanding is, the nature of the entity structure (Company Limited by Guarantee) is that members' liability is limited to the amount they pay in membership dues (the Guarantee). This isn't currently made explicit in the draft membership policy. We could consider adding it... but members would be protected whether it's explicit or not.</div><div><i><br></i></div><div><i>>Also why are existing members of committees ( present non-members)
offered only General Membership? Don't they qualify for Charter
Members?</i></div><div>Good point, I've updated the wording in the doc to clarify that these people should be invited to become general or charter members. Feels like it would depend on their level of engagement, in most cases I imagine charter would make sense. The hurdles for eligibility as a charter member are still up for discussion, as is the notion of the general membership, so maybe we'll need to revise this statement again before we're done.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Cheers</div><div>John<br></div><div><i></i></div><div><i></i></div></div>
