On reflection, I am in thorough agreement that the OSM SIG should not claim to set the strategic direction for OSM in the region, but instead play a supportive role. This is quite vague though and I think we need to work out what it means specifically. As you said, we can determine our own strategic goals and work towards them. have put together a charter</a> for the OpenStreetMap SIG. I have been referring to it as the OpenStreetMap Working Group (OSM WG), but perhaps these terms are interchangeable.<br>

The charter is fairly straight forward and hopefully captures the discussions that we as a community had in July & August. I invite others to contribute, keeping in mind the obligations the OSM WG would have as a Special Interest Group. These obligations have
