<html><head></head><body><div style="font-family: Verdana;font-size: 12.0px;"><div>Dear Open Geoscience list,</div>
<div> </div>
<div>apologies for sending a rather late update about the annual budget allocation.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>The OSGeo board has ok'd an annual budget of 2,500 USD. This is 50% of the initially requested annual budget. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>Details here:</div>
<div><a href="https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Open_Geoscience_Committee/budget_2021" target="_blank">https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Open_Geoscience_Committee/budget_2021</a></div>
<div> </div>
<div>In former years, a significant amount of the budget was used to host OSGeo events at the annual European Geoscience Union General Assembly (EGU GA).</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Due to the pandemic, EGU GA was turned into an online event in 2020, and will be conducted in the same fashion this year. So for the forseeable future there will be no ressources needed to host on-site OSGeo at EGU. This allows us to spend the allotted budget for other projects, which needs to be discussed.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>As in 2020, this years EGU GA will feature an Data (and Software!) Help Desk event, for which volunteers are needed. I will circulate details soon.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Best,</div>
<div>Peter</div>
