Hi,

I think this sponsors list is the list of sponsors of OSGeo, not of the GDAL 
sponsorship program. You can find them on the gdal website list:
http://www.gdal.org/credits.html

But indeed, some companies are both sponsor of OSGeo and GDAL sponsorship 
program.
