[OpenLayers-Dev] Drawing a line using code

I have seen the examples 
http://openlayers.org/dev/examples/draw-feature.html here  but they only
show how to add a path by using the mouse.

I need to find a way to draw the line directly with  JavaScript, manually.

How can I accomplish this?
